Project Overview &
The Challenge
FPC was engaged to strengthen and refurbish an existing build which was already partially dismantled to allow new machinery and plant to be installed to keep up with the site’s expansion projects.
Working from consultant‑provided drawings, FPC delivered a targeted retrofit solution involving the installation of new structural steel, alongside associated cosmetic works to bring the building up to compliance for the clients’ operations.
Although technically straightforward, the project was one component of a wider programme of works involving several contractors. This required close collaboration, careful sequencing, and a strong focus on building trust across all teams on site.
The Solution
Operating in build‑only mode, FPC focused on efficient, no‑nonsense execution.
The team coordinated closely with other contractors to align sequencing, minimise clashes and ensure the strengthening works were delivered within the tight programme.
Despite the project’s remote location and short timeframe, FPC mobilised quickly, managed logistics independently and maintained momentum throughout the six‑week build.
The Value
- Speed and reliability: The project was delivered within a tight programme, freeing up the client to focus on wider site activities.
- Collaborative coordination: FPC played an active role in aligning multiple contractors, contributing to a well-integrated broader programme.
- Practical delivery: With minimal scope for innovation required, FPC’s value-add was getting in, getting it done, and delivering exactly what the client needed.
